THE FOUNDER AND CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF BON MARINE MR. GEORGI BONIN HAS PASSED AWAY
It is with great sadness that we inform you that on 22.07.2023 Mr. Georgi Bonin – founder and chairman of the Board of Directors of Bon Marine has passed away.
He was a visionary, leader and mentor who changed the maritime industry in Bulgaria.
Mr. Bonin was born in 1949 in the city of Plovdiv. He graduated from the French Language High School in the city of Varna, and then with an engineering degree in Navigation from the Naval Academy in Varna. Mr. Bonin worked for 17 years in the Bulgarian Navy and 4 years as a representative in Italy.
He founded Bon Marine in 1990. His values, vision and dedication have always been the heart and purpose for the company’s success and development. In addition to being a successful businessman, Mr. Bonin was a patron of the arts and philanthropist.
Mr. Bonin has been nominated twice for the prestigious prize “Mr. Economy” in the category “Contribution to the development of the Bulgarian industry” and for “Overall contribution to the development of the national economy”.
In 2011, Mr. Bonin was awarded the “Saint Nicholas” honorary by the Bulgarian Maritime Chamber for his personal contribution to the development of the Bulgarian maritime industry.
All of us who had the honor of knowing and working with him are grateful for the opportunity to learn from a man of his experience and knowledge.
FINAL GOODBYE WITH GEORGE BONIN
The Requiem Mass for George Bonin’s mortal remains will be held on 17.08.2023 at 10:45 in The “Dormition of the Mother of God” Cathedral.
Afterwards, the funeral will take place in the Central Cemetery – Varna.
George Bonin has passed at 73 years of age after a long and serious illness.
He was a leader and mentor, a philanthropist and patron of the Arts, a man who changed the maritime industry in Bulgaria. True born visionary and a man of honor, left behind him inspiration and meaning.
All of us who had the honor of knowing and working with him will say our last farewell upon his last voyage.
