Bon Marine participated in the National Naval Training “BRIZ – 2024”
For another year in a row, Bon Marine took an active part in the national naval training with international participation “BRIZ” held on 11-12 of July 2024, in Burgas.
The training involved 23 combat and auxiliary ships and boats, 3 aircraft, 2 helicopters and over 2,300 servicemen from 12 countries – Bulgaria, Belgium, UK, Georgia, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Romania, USA, Turkey, France, as well as from the NATO Maritime Combined Command (MARCOM), Mine Countermeasures Group Black Sea (MCM Black Sea), NATO Mine Countermeasures Operations Centre (NMW COE), NATO Force Integration Unit Bulgaria (NFIU) and NATO Maritime Interdiction Operations Training Centre (NMIOTC).
The Commander-in-Chief of the Bulgarian army – President Rumen Radev, together with the senior command of the navy and the army, observed from the board of the frigate “Drazki” the playing out of a number of situations. Among them – fighting a fire, controlling a ship captured by terrorists, reflecting an attack of an air enemy.
An episode of the oil spill response training was practiced with the help of colleagues from Bon Marine. An Allmaritim CB4 boom, which is part of a long list of oil spill response equipment stored under a project with EMSA, was supplied for the purpose. Certified employees of the company trained participants in the training in the possibilities and ways of using this equipment. The boom was launched 2 times with the help of a military tugboat “Mizar” and its operation was demonstrated visually. During the training, excellent interaction was achieved between the military and our officers in dealing with a non-military crisis such as oil pollution at sea.
The President highly appreciated the skills for responding to crises of different types, the interaction between the different crews, the increased interoperability and the modern techniques, tactics and procedures demonstrated during the training.
